Since this is an overnight event, we should book our rooms as soon as possible. We plan to stay at the Niles Hotel, which is a restored antique hotel. There are a limited number of rooms, so book early if you want to join us. There are several hotels in Alturas. One of the hotels, the Niles Hotel opened in 1912. It has been restored with boutique rooms. There are 14 rooms that are currently restored. The room rates are very reasonable for a boutique hotel, in the range of $95 - $150. If you would like a room at the Niles, you should book the room soon, since we were not able to get a group rate, feel free to book directly with the Niles Hotel at the link below, or check out Hotels.com for other hotels in Alturas.

We will meet in Sparks on September 10th, at the Alamo Casino & Travel Center, at 1950 E. Greg St, near the fire station, in the corner of the parking lot, at 9:15 AM, and plan to leave Sparks at 9:30 AM, taking I80 east to NV447 to Gerlach. Lunch will be at Bruno's, in Gerlach. We will then continue north to Cedarville, and then a short hop west to Alturas.

On Sunday we will take the scenic route back to Reno. From Alturas we will take CA 299 west and pass-through Canby to Adin and then CA139 to Susanville. After lunch in Susanville, it is back to Reno and points south. See map below.
