2017 Nevada Day Parade

The theme of the 2017 Nevada Day Parade was "Parade of Arts and Entertainment."  Our entry was called “Minnie Mouse and Mini Coopers,” and we submitted the following commentary, which was read by the announcers along the parade route:

Sierra Nevada MINIs is a local motoring club formed in 2005 to unite Mini Cooper owners all across western and northern Nevada.  The club engages in monthly driving and social events, and each year supports a local charity by donating food, helping to collect Thanksgiving turkeys, or donating clothing to families in need.

In this year’s parade, the Sierra Nevada MINIs are celebrating Minnie Mouse, a Disney character who has entertained many generations of children here in Nevada.  As with Minnie Mouse, these high performance automobiles although small in size, are big on fun and excitement.

The efforts of all those who participated in the event on behalf of Sierra Nevada Minis paid off as our car club won 1st place in the vehicles/car clubs category.

2007 Nevada Day Parade

Our club was awarded 3rd place in the 2007 Nevada Day Parade by dressing up our Mini's and ourselves as aliens from another solar system to honor the theme of the parade, which was about Area 51, the super-secret facility in southern Nevada.
2006 Nevada Day Parade

Our club was awarded 3rd place overall in the 2006 Nevada Day Parade. This was the first parade we had entered after establishing SNMC in 2005.
