This event is an "Escape of the Heat" event with a picnic in the Bear Valley area. We plan to escape the heat and have a potluck picnic under the trees! We plan to meet in Carson City, at the Savemart on North Carson St, at 9:00 AM and depart at 9:15 AM.

The trip will take us a couple of hours, going through Markleeville and taking CA 4 over Ebbett's Pass. Once we get to the destination, we will break out the chairs and have a leisurely picnic. So . . . please plan on bringing something to share, be it a salad, snack platter, fruit, or meat and cheese tray. If you would like to let RodDimmitt@hotmail.com know what you will be brining, he can work on not having any duplications of food items. As usual, the drinks will be up to each individual member to supply their own. After lunch, we can just hang out or explore the Bear Valley Lodge, or drive up to Bear Valley Mountain to take in the views. If you are a hiker, there are lots of hiking trials to take advantage of. Once we are done with the picnic, folks can go their own way to explore or to return home.

NOTE: Below is a map of the route we will need to take to Bear Valley if the road in the Markleville remains closed due to flooding, mud/rock slides, etc.
