Mini Farm Tour and Country Roads Drive
August 22, 2020 — The originally-planned Farm to Fork Tour just couldn't happen this year with all the COVID-19 restrictions still in place.  However, Sonya Sistare has planned a similar event that should satisfy our desires to get out and drive our Minis as well as allow us to engage in good conversation in a beautiful setting while practicing social distancing.

Here is the schedule:

8:30 AM—Meet at the Save Mart at 3620 N. Carson Street in Carson City

8:45 AM—Depart for a scenic drive past ranches and farms in the Carson Valley

9:30 AM—Arrive Jacob's Berry Farm, 1335 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville: Tour includes a talk about and walk around historic structures (1890s barn, chicken coup, creamery, blacksmith shop, bunk house, farm house and more), walk around the berry field with a discussion about how berries are grown.  Fresh, delicious blackberries and raspberries will be available for purchase following the tour...bring a cooler!

11:00 AM—Depart for a short, scenic drive to the Historic Dangberg Ranch, 1450 NV-88 in Minden. Tours are not available at this time, however, we are welcome to walk around the Ranch and view historic buildings from the outside.  Bring your own picnic lunch and folding chairs, or use the picnic tables available at the Ranch, where we will enjoy a socially distanced picnic lunch.

12:30 PM—Depart for a drive around the vast Bently Ranch properties, with an optional stop at Bently Ranch Meats, 1350 Buckeye Road, for those who wish to purchase from their selection of local, sustainably raised beef, local lamb, locally-made sausage and charcuterie, natural chicken, seasonal produce, and gourmet cheeses.

1:00 PM—Return home with smiles on our faces!

Other important notes:
