Loop Drive with Lunch in Truckee, CA
April 24, 2021 — Michael Fertitta will lead us on a drive through the Sierras northwest of Reno. We will meet at the north Carson City SaveMart parking lot at 8:30 AM with a planned departure time of 8:45 AM. From Carson City, we will caravan to the Raley's off of Golden Valley Road (1075 N. Hills Blvd., Reno, NV 89506) on the south side of the parking lot. Raley's has a Peat's Coffee inside for those who might need a caffine boost before we depart. We will plan to depart from Raley's at 10:00 AM.
The drive route will take us north on US 395 toward CA 70 (Hallelujah Junction) where we will head west toward CA 89. Once we reach CA 89, we will head south toward Graeagle and on to Truckee where we will stop for lunch at the Fifty Fifty Brewing Company (11197 Brockway Rd. #1, Truckee, CA 96161). Folks will be on their own for the trip home, but those of us heading to Carson City will head down CA 267 to NV 28 and US 50 for a scenic drive to beautiful Lake Tahoe, through Incline Village, and over Spooner Summit.
We understand that while things are getting better, it is still a challenge from a COVID-19 standpoint, so make sure you feel comfortable getting out. Bring a face mask, or some other face covering, so that you feel most comfortable.
